Most people don’t understand what insurance is for
When I was growing up I was always hit with “you can’t, you can’t” all the time and I made a point of “watch me”. When I finished my career in football, I had a hard time accepting that I had the physical and athletic pedigree, I just did not have the political pedigree. So, it took me a while to get over that.
Feeling that I was beaten. One of my long-time mentors and coaches was a long-term insurance professional. He said, “You would be great. Why don’t you join me.” And I had no intentions of being in the insurance industry at all.
He won. I made a deal. I would start from the ground up. I started from scratch as a debit agent. Now 36 years later it has become more of a passion because there is a need that most folks that don’t understand how to handle.
My job is very simple. I’m here to make sure that if the unthinkable happens and you don’t walk through that door, your wife and kids don’t skip a beat.
That is my main goal and my main passion.
